The night ahead
I begin with a short presentation explaining what is visible, where it can be found and why I find it so fascinating.
Inside the observatory
Witchmark is my privately owned observatory. On selected clear nights, I welcome just ten guests so I can share the telescopes, the sky and the hobby I love.
What happens on the night
Witchmark is not a commercial attraction or a large public observatory. It is a private observatory that I built from my own love of astronomy and occasionally open to others.
Your evening begins with a short presentation introducing the objects and conditions for that particular night.
I then guide you through the telescopes, showing you where to point, how to use the equipment and what to look for through the eyepiece. We finish with hot chocolate, conversation and plenty of time for questions.

I guide you personally from object to object, helping you use the telescope and understand what you are seeing.
The session concludes warmly, with space to reflect on what you have seen and ask anything astronomy-related.
Not a visitor attraction
Each evening is limited to ten visitors and uses five telescopes. The small group is deliberate: it allows me to spend time with everyone, answer questions and avoid turning the night into a hurried visitor attraction.
I open the observatory because I enjoy sharing astronomy and seeing other people discover the sky for themselves. The emphasis is on actual observing, relaxed conversation and genuine time at the eyepiece.
